Chocolate Baklava Rolls

These Chocolate Baklava Rolls bring together all the cozy, classic flavors you love; crunchy nuts, warm spices, and rich chocolate — in a low-carb, sugar-free version made with our Dough Mix. They’re simple to prepare, full of flavor, and the perfect treat when you want something special without the sugar crash.

What You Need
  • 1 batch of Dough Mix (~1 1/2 cups)
  • 2 cups mozerella, shredded
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup cacoa

For the Filling

  • 1/2 cup walnuts, chopped
  • 1/2 cup pistachios, chopped
  • 1/4 cup allulose, powdered (or more to taste)
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon

For the Simple Syrup

  • 1 cup allulose
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 tsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp rose water* optional
Bake This Way:
  1. Prepare Dough: Preheat oven to 350°F. Make one batch (½ bag) of the Dough Mix according to the package instructions, adding the cocoa powder when you mix the dry ingredients.
  2. Prepare Filling: Chop the walnuts and pistachios separately, then combine them with 1/4 cup allulose and 1 tablespoon cinnamon. Set aside.
  3. Prepare the Simple Syrup: Combine allulose, water and lemon juice in a small pot over medium heat. Stir every few minutes until allulose is completely dissolved and syrup thickens as it bubbles, about 15 minutes. Set aside.
  4. Assemble Rolls:
    1. Roll out dough on flat, nonstick surface (we like to use a silicon mat), with the palm of your hands into a rectangular shape about 1/4” thick. If using rolling pin, we recommend you place parchment paper on top of dough prior to rolling.
    2. Evenly spread filling all over the dough, careful to not tear it.
    3. Roll up dough tightly and cut into 8-12 equal sized rolls – use a very sharp knife or string to cut the roll.  Begin in the center by cutting the roll in half, then cut each 1/4-1/2 into half and continue until you have 8-12 pieces.
    4. Use parchment paper, or a greased tray. Arrange rolls into a baking dish/muffin pan.
    5. Bake for 20 minutes or until brown on top and the outside of the rolls feel crisp, not doughy.
    6. Once the cinnamon rolls are removed from the oven pour the cool syrup onto the rolls. Optional to sprinkle with finely crushed pistachios.
  5. Enjoy!
